Safety is the infrastructure nobody thinks about until something goes wrong. I think about it constantly β and I've spent years building the systems, training the teams, and holding the radio when things get intense.
That work has taken me from the Costa Rican jungle to the Nevada desert to festival grounds across three continents β each with its own terrain, population, and set of challenges.
I've worked festival safety at every level and in every role β building emergency plans, managing radio traffic across departments, de-escalating charged situations using non-violent communication, and training the volunteers who make it all work on the ground.
The venues change. The work doesn't.
